What's new
SFTP.cloud is delivered continuously, so there are no version numbers to watch. This page records what changed for you and when, newest first. Each entry links to the page that documents the current behavior. A feature that is available to use and still changing carries the label Preview; a feature with no label is generally available.

- General availability. SFTP.cloud is generally available. The early access label and its notice are gone from the Portal, the Connector and the web client, and from this manual. Nothing about your site, your price or your data changes: the rate a subscription was opened on stays with it, as Plan and billing states.

- Password changes in the web client. Users change their own password from Settings, and an administrator can require a new one at a user's next web client sign in, when creating the user or at any time later. The user is held on a change screen until they set one; SFTP and FTPS keep accepting the current password meanwhile. See Change or reset your password and Requiring a password change.
- Forgot your password, per site. A new site setting lets web client users reset a forgotten password by email: a single use link, valid thirty minutes, sent under your site's name. A user with an authenticator app is asked for its code on the reset page. Off by default. See Site settings.
- Password change confirmations. Every password change a web client user makes, from their settings or through a reset link, is confirmed by a message to their address under your site's name. It carries no link. See Change or reset your password.
- Share notifications under your name. The message your users' recipients get when files are shared with them now carries your site's title as the sender name and heading, with nothing of ours on it.

- Import users from another product. The Portal reads the user export of the server you are leaving (Syncplify Server, Cerberus, SFTPGo, FileZilla Server, or the SFTP.cloud CSV template), previews what every account becomes, and creates the accounts, passwords carried where the export holds them. Each Storage Connector then reads the same file to create the storage it names and grant the users. Rerunning either half is safe. Admins and tech members. See Import users from another product.
- Users list filters. Search, a storage state switch, and From an import narrow the list.

- Be right back. Pause a site from its Overview: every sign in is refused at once, open sessions end, share links stop answering, and your web address shows an away page in your branding with an optional note. Your Storage Connectors stay linked, scripted transfers keep running, billing continues, your service level is not affected, and turning it off takes effect within seconds. Admins and tech members. See Be right back.

- Cancel a trial site yourself. A site on its free trial can be cancelled at any time from its Plan and billing page: the site ends immediately, its name is released for anyone to use, and nothing is ever charged. The free trial still applies only to the first site of an account, so cancelling does not make another trial possible. See Cancelling a trial site.
- A Connector enrolled from the command line no longer needs a restart. The running service notices the enrollment by itself within moments, and its admin console goes straight to the dashboard. See Enroll to your site.
- A folder whose storage is offline no longer blocks sign in. A user signs in as long as the storage behind their starting folder is reachable. A Custom folder on a Connector that is not connected shows in listings, refuses to open until it is back, and comes alive in the same session when its Connector returns. See Storage and connectors.
- Disconnecting a Connector tidies your users. Custom folders that named its storage are removed and kept as removed folders on each user, restorable from the editor; a user whose starting folder was on it goes back to Automatic folders. The confirmation says how many users were affected. Sessions that were using its storage end at once, even if the machine is still running, and the Connector's own console notices within a couple of minutes and offers Reset pairing. See Disconnecting.
- Sync from a script.
SubmitTransfergainsop: "sync": one way, updateormirror, with a conflict rule, a dry run, and a deletion ceiling. Relayed copies now keep the source's modification time. See Keeping a folder in sync. - Tell your Connectors apart. The Storage page now shows each Connector's hostname beside its connector id, the Connector's own Node health header shows the same id, and the Disconnect confirmation names the exact machine. See Storage and connectors.
- Reset pairing. A disconnected Connector can be enrolled again from its own dashboard, keeping its virtual file systems, permissions, scripts, secrets and keys. See Starting over: reset pairing.

- Sign in with your identity provider. A site can be connected to your organization's OpenID Connect provider (Microsoft Entra ID, Google Workspace, Okta, or any other), so your people sign in to the web client with the account they already have, optionally created on their first sign in. See Sign in with your identity provider.
- App passwords. Users create separate, revocable credentials for desktop clients and scripts in the web client, one per program, protocol scoped, shown once. Administrators see and revoke them per user. See App passwords.
- Automatic home folders. A user can now be created with no folder layout at all: the storage a Connector administrator grants becomes their home automatically, and the old create, assign, grant round trip is gone. Explicit per user folder maps remain as the Custom option. See Users.
- Early access replaces alpha. SFTP.cloud has two stages, early access and general availability, with nothing in between. The labels in the Portal, the Connector and the web client now say "Early access", and What early access means keeps the current list of what is still moving. Nothing about your site, your price or your data changed.
- One feature label in this manual. A feature that is available to use and still changing carries the label Preview; a feature with no label is generally available.
