Sign in to the web client
The web client is the version you use in a browser. There is nothing to install.
- Open the address you were given, for example
https://files.company.com. - Type your username exactly as you were given it, including everything after the
@. - Type your password.
- Choose Sign in.
If you have set up a second factor, you are then asked for a one time code from your authenticator app, or your passkey.
The two checkboxes
Remember this user fills in your username next time. It does not remember your password.
Trust this device for N days stops asking for the six digit code on this browser for that many days. It never skips your password.
Only tick Trust this device on a machine that is yours.
Signing in with a passkey
If you have registered one, choose Sign in with a passkey. Your device asks for its own unlock: a fingerprint, a face, a PIN, or a security key.
You do not type a username first, and there is no code afterwards.
Signing in with your organization
If the sign in page shows an extra button (its wording is your organization's, for example "Sign in with your organization"), your account may sign in through your workplace's own system: choose it, sign in there as you always do, and you are brought back in. No password for this site is involved, and any code or approval step belongs to your organization's sign in, not to this one.
Desktop programs cannot use that button. For SFTP or FTPS, create an app password first.
If it will not let you in
| It says | What it means |
|---|---|
| That username and password combination is not right | A typo, or the wrong username. Check everything after the @ |
| Sign in failed, with no more detail | Deliberate. Ask your administrator; they can see the real reason |
| Passkey sign in did not complete | Try again, or use your password |
| Your organization's sign in did not complete | Try again from the sign in page. If it keeps failing, ask whoever administers this site |
| Sign in refused because no storage is granted yet | Your account exists but nobody has granted it a folder yet. Ask your administrator |
| Choose a new password, right after signing in | Your administrator requires a new password before you continue. See Change or reset your password |
Failures never tell you which part was wrong. That is on purpose, and it means guessing at the message will not help. Ask the person who gave you your access.
If the sign in page shows Forgot your password?, your site lets you reset it by email; see Change or reset your password. If it does not, only your administrator can set a new one.
If you have lost your authenticator
On the code step, choose Use a recovery code instead, and enter one of the single use codes you saved when you set up your authenticator.
Each code works once, and the page tells you how many are left. When you are down to your last few, set your authenticator up again from Settings to get a fresh set.
If you have no codes left either, your administrator can reset your second factor for you.
What you see once you are in
| Page | What it is |
|---|---|
| Files | Your folders and files |
| Shares | Links you have created for people outside |
| Settings | Your own sign in security |
Continue with Working with files in the browser.
Signing out
Use Sign out in the account menu, especially on a machine that is not yours.
Sessions also end on their own after a period of inactivity. The length is set by your administrator.
